Lana Del Rey Leaks ‘Ultra-Violence’ Release Date
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Artist News, Upcoming Releases, Videos, Pop,
Lana Del Rey has spilled the beans (by accident!) about the release date for her upcoming album, Ultra-Violence.
While signing autographs and chatting with fans, Lana was caught off guard when one of them armed with a camera asks her, "When is your album coming out?" To which she answers, ""It's coming out soon... May 1st." The woman behind the camera responds, "May 1st? Has that date been announced? This is the first time we're hearing that date." The singer then realizes that she's being filmed, smiling, she exclaims, "What - is that on video?" She quickly tries to save herself by simply saying, "I think so," when the surrounding fans ask her for confirmation of the date.

Adele Earns $50 Million Without New Tours or Albums
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Artist News, Pop, R&B / Soul,
Adele earned $50 million in 2013 without touring or releasing any music.
The Skyfall singer's Melted Stone company revealed a turnover of $50 million for the past financial year, which was filed this week with Companies House. According to reports in The Sun newspaper, Adele took home $19.8 million, which included a $8 million pay package and a $11.8 million dividend.
Her huge income was earned despite not releasing any albums or singles, and she didn't go on the road to play a run of live shows. However, the success of her album 21 has boosted her bank balance, despite being released three years ago.
Although Adele has been quiet musically for a while, she has been raising her 16-month-old son Angelo, with work now starting on her highly-anticipated third album.

Demi Lovato has banned anyone from using drugs or alcohol from her upcoming Neon Lights tour.
The "Heart Attack" hitmaker wants everyone involved in her tour to stay clean following the death of Philip Seymour Hoffman, who tragically died in his New York City apartment over the weekend after experiencing a relapse, according to RadarOnline.com.
The 21-year-old singer - who has battled and overcome cocaine addiction in the past - believes her shows should be about putting on the best performance possible for her fans instead of a time for wild partying. "Everyone on the team is required to stay clean and focused. It's not about trying to party. It's about putting on the best show and everyone needs to be in tip top shape. That's how it should be for every tour," she said recently.

Britney Spears and Lady Gaga to Collaborate?
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Collaborations, Concerts / Tours, Gossip, Performances, Pop,
It's about time!
A duet between Britney Spears and Lady Gaga may be in the works soon, a source close to the pop stars said: "It'll happen soon."
Gossip of the collaboration began when Lady Gaga attended one of Britney's Las Vegas shows, after which she posted a photo of the two of them on her Twitter, captioning it, "Me and Brit Brit. She looked so gorgeous, the show was so much fun, and her dad gave us THE BEST BBQ. It was a #MonsterParty!"
"During the song 'Till the World Ends,' Gaga walked to the pit and tossed Britney roses... Brit blew her a kiss!" an eyewitness at the concert noted.
Back in December, Britney expressed interest in getting together with Lady Gaga for a track: "I would do a duet with Lady Gaga. I think that would be a lot of fun. I think she's very different and interesting and intricate, and I like her as an artist."

Prince Not Suing Fans Over Bootleg Performances

Prince says it's "cool" when fans share music.
The "Purple Rain" hitmaker has scoffed at reports he filed a $22 million lawsuit against 22 internet users who allegedly posted recordings of his live performances online. The 55-year-old musician insists he would never sue his own fans and is happy for them to share his songs as long as they are not doing so to make money.
Speaking at a press conference held at his friend Lianne La Havas' home to announce his upcoming London concerts on Tuesday, Prince told the BBC, "Nobody sues their fans. I have some bootlegs of Lianne but I wouldn't sell them. But fans sharing music with each other, that's cool... But when you hear something [on bootleg] you're just hearing something that's not finished."
Prince - who is about to release a new album with his band 3RDEYEGIRL - also revealed he has a large number of unheard music in the vaults at his Paisley Park home and studio, and he owns the rights to old archive of recordings that he may release in future: "A song from 1985 might come out in 2021. I have a whole organization who look after stuff."

Kesha has postponed the rest of her tour to focus on her health.
The "Timber" hitmaker was set to resume her five-leg Warrior world tour, which kicked off in May 2013, next month but decided to cancel the remaining two US dates after checking into the Chicago-area Timberline Knolls Center to seek treatment for anorexia and bulimia in early January.
The 26-year-old star released the following statement yesterday: "I was so looking forward to performing at these dates but I need to follow my doctor's advice and get my health back on track."
Ke$ha was due to perform in Hammond, Indiana on March 15 and Green Bay, Wisconsin on April 13, but has now cleared her schedule in a bid to overcome her issues before re-entering the spotlight.

Miley Cyrus Doesn’t Mind if People Don’t Buy ‘Bangerz’

Miley Cyrus doesn't mind if people don't buy her Bangerz album.
The "Wrecking Ball" singer claims she wouldn't have cared if her latest record - which was a number one album in the US, Australia and the UK - wasn't a huge seller as she is comfortable financially and more interested in making an artistic statement with her music.
"I've made my money. If no one buys my album, cool. It's fine. I've got a house, and I've got dogs that I love. I don't need anything else," she told W.
Miley, 21, may be seen as a hard-partying figure with her notorious live appearances in skimpy outfits with her tongue hanging out, but she insists when she is at home in California she rarely goes out: "I never leave the house. Why go to a movie? I've got a huge-ass TV. We've got a chef here that can make you great food. We don't need to leave. I would just rather be here where I'm completely locked in."

Nick Jonas Working on Demi Lovato’s Tour

Nick Jonas has been hired as the musical and creative director of Demi Lovato's Neon Lights tour.
The former Jonas Brothers singer, who parted ways with the band four months ago, shares the same manager as the "Let It Go" hitmaker and was thrilled to be offered the position ahead of the tour, which kicks off on February 9 in Vancouver. "I'm overseeing video content, wardrobe, lighting and staging. And then I'm extending into the musical side of things, which includes creating the arrangements for the songs. I'm building what Demi wanted, which is a show without stops and starts," he told Rolling Stone.
The 21-year-old performer, who was previously in a band with his brothers Kevin, 26, and Joe, 24, and has been close friends with Demi for a number of years. "I was immediately excited when I was offered the position. The relationship that Demi and I had over eight years really gives me the insight into how to best communicate with her and her team," he continued.

Lana Del Rey’s “Almost Unlistenable” New Album
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Gossip, Upcoming Releases, Pop,
Lana Del Rey's new album is "so dark it's almost unlistenable."
The "Born to Die" singer has completed work on her second record, Ultra and warned fans it will not be particularly cheerful. According to MTV, she told fans in an online chat, "The record is finished and it's beautiful. And don't worry you will love Ultra - it's so wrong and exquisite. It is absolutely gorgeous - darker then the first - so dark it's almost unlistenable and wrong. But I love it. X."
Her second album may be moody, but the singer's personal life is certainly not, as it was recently revealed she has secretly been engaged to musician Barrie-James O'Neill since last summer. The "Video Games" star and Barrie - previously singer in the folk-rock band Kassidy - first got together in 2011.
Ultraviolence is set to be released this year.

Pharrell Accused of Plagiarizing Franz Ferdinand Song
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Collaborations, Gossip, Hip-Hop & Rap, Pop, Rock, New Releases,
Perhaps Pharrell shouldn't break out the champagne glasses for his Grammy wins just yet.
The 40-year-old producer/singer/Arby's hat lover has been accused of stealing the rift from the 2004 Franz Ferdinand song "Take Me Out" for the Paloma Faith track he produced, titled "Can't Rely on You."
"Hey @Pharrell - I love your tunes. If you want to borrow a riff, just ask... [sic]," Alex Kapranos - Franz Ferdinand frontman - wrote on Twitter yesterday.
Although Kapranos seems to have taken the plagiarizing in good humor (he later pointed out another similarity between a popular contemporary tune and one from 1986: "THAT's what it is! Royals by Lorde sounds like You're The Voice by John Farnham. A wee bit."), Pharrell has yet to respond. Kapranos hasn't stated whether he'll pursue legal action against him.
